Ramsay Pipe Band

is a new pipe band founded in the summer of 2025 in Aesch (Basel-Landschaft). The band plays classic bagpipe tunes (Great Highland Bagpipes) and is rhythmically accompanied by snare drums, tenor drums, and a bass drum – in the style of traditional Scottish pipe and drum ensembles.

At the heart of their musical performance is the tightly coordinated interplay between the bagpipes and the percussion: the drummers form the rhythmic and melodic foundation of the band together with the pipers, which is also visually highlighted in the band logo. This focus on rhythm and ensemble balance is characteristic of our band and gives our performances energy and precision. In addition, the songs of Switzerland also influence our repertoire. Among other things, we are the only pipe band that plays the "Baselbieter Lied".
